Therapist & Practice Founder
I was born in Washington D.C., raised in Maryland, and have lived in Virginia for most of my adult life. I have always loved talking to people and listening to their stories. I decided to become a therapist when I got involved with volunteer grief work through the Wendt Center in Washington D.C. Facilitating healing after loss and trauma is one of the great loves of my life. When I am not engaged in my work I like to read, cook, hike, and spend time with my friends and family. My mini labradoodle, Finn, is my near constant companion and can be found sleeping at my feet during my most of my teletherapy sessions.
I absolutely love my work as a psychotherapist. I received my undergraduate degree in psychology at Virginia Tech and master’s degree in clinical mental health at George Washington University. After completing my training through a mental health counseling agency, I opened my private practice in 2016. My ongoing professional training includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, positive psychology, trauma informed care, internal family systems work, and EMDR. My passion is partnering with my clients to overcome past trauma and difficulties that are blocking them from living their ideal life.
